Born in Texas and raised in a military family, Ted Gibson has moved from one exotic place to the next. The experience of living in places such as, Germany, Hawaii and Japan opened up a new world for Ted. At an early age he learned to appreciate the beauty and diversity of different cultures. Upon returning to the Lone Star State, Ted followed his passion and pursued his dream. Ted's career began at the front desk of Aveda and after recognizing the talent that was before them, Aveda asked him to teach. For the next three years, Ted taught the tricks of the trade. Teaching students at the Aveda Institute how to cut, style and exceed client's expectations with excellent customer service skills. Ted, once again, found himself traveling the globe as a Global Trainer teaching classes, developing curriculums, setting trends and creating the looks for each season. It was then, that Ted decided to take his expertise to the labs of Aveda and develop such products as, Phomollient, the Brilliant Line and the Self-Control Styling stick. It was all of these efforts that lead Aveda to ask Ted to become the creative director for Aveda New York. After seven years with Aveda, Ted realized the importance of reinvention. He started dressing hair for some of the top magazines in the world. This lead him to his dream of opening his own salon and creating his own line of products that have a cult following which beauty editors, top magazine executives, celebrities and consumers, alike have fallen in love with the brand, ted gibson. Today, Ted divides his time between working with clients, mentoring the ted gibson salon staff and creating new products.
